Saving my VODs?

Postby Sayton » 21 May 2007 10:26

Alright, I'm pretty new to VLC and VOD. But I managed to get the web interface working and uploaded a few VODs and it works fine until I shut the program down and restart it.
Is there any way to "save" the VODs, maybe to a web server, so that I can have them running 24/7 without having to add all my files as VODs again whenever the program is restarted?

Thanks in advance.

[edit] I'm running the Windows version.

Yes, sure. You need to use the telnet interface. I don't remember the exact command, but if you list all commands, there are commands to load and save the config. I am not sure about command line options, I am not aware if there are any.

Thanks for the help... I still can't get it working though.

I've made my config file like this:

Code: Select all

new Film1 vod enabled input "C:\film\K2CD1.avi"
It's named test.txt and is located in the VLC folder.

Then I use this command to start vlc:

Code: Select all

C:\Program\VideoLAN\VLC>vlc -I telnet --telnet-password admin --vlm-conf=test.txt --extraintf=http
Still, no VOD in sight, and I have to go on to the web or telnet interface and create it manually for it to appear.

If anyone knows how to make the config file add the VOD, or see what I'm doing wrong, please post.

Thanks in advance.
