H.264 Streaming doesn't work

Postby Kill3Rb34n » 03 May 2007 12:17

I am trying to stream some H.264 Videos or MPEG4 Videos in HDTV from my server to a client.
The Hardware is able to do this (Intel Core 2 Duo 2,13, 2GB, Geforce 7600GT).

So the server and the client can play the videos without any probs from HDD.
But when i want to stream those videos i sometimes get the audio signal from vlc or nothing.
The data should sent correctly because of the bandwith which is used for this.

So can anybody help me in this content ?
Its really very important.

I use VLC 0.8.6b

Hello I have the same problem : viewtopic.php?p=111025#111025

As I understand this situation is because the new vlc 0.8.6b ffmpeg is complied with option (GLOBAL_HEADER ON):
global_header
Causes SPS and PPS to appear only once, at the beginning of the bitstream (default: disabled).
Some players, such as the Sony PSP, require the use of this option. The default behavior causes SPS and PPS to repeat prior to each IDR frame.
I don't know how to fix this problem, could anybody help me please :?

Use version 0.8.5. I've never been able to stream H264 videos with anything newer than 0.8.5.

0.8.6 (not 0.8.6b ) works also. It was a dream don't compile VLC ... install it and update it using yum.

Maybe somebody help to understand what wrong in 0.8.6b?
