Multicasting over the internet HOW?

How does one stream in multicast over the internet?

Please help me out , i wish to stream to around 20 people on the internet and multicast seems to be a better option than http unicast but how do i go about it?

I think, that's much better way for u,use a mmsh-style to stream & transcode it( for 20 people).

Unless these 20 people are on your local LAN or connected to an Mbone, multicasting can't happen over the internet.

If you are talking about setting up a server, the you should consider using Helix, Darwin Streaming Server, or even Windows Media Server for a broadcast style setup. All of these formats VLC can stream out though so it might seem kind of pointless to install any of these server software.

I think you should give a clearer definition of your meaning for multicasting as you may be talking about something else.

thanks for your reply to the gentleman, now as you said that VLC can stream to Helix and Windows media service.

now, How you successfully tried to stream to windows media service.

can you write the command used to stream to windows media service, or even to helix. it will be appreciated.
