MPEG2-TS streaming overhead

Hi,
I use the windows version of VLC, version 0.8.5.
I'm tyring to determine what kind of overhead is added when streaming a file with VLC. When selecting UDP in the Stream Output window, my guess is that this ends up being MPEG2-TS over UDP/IP. I just wanted to confirm that since it is also possible to do TS/RTP/UDP/IP, which adds more overhead.
Thanks
Mike.
