Streaming H.264 to Amino STB 124

I have an Amino STB (the Aminet 124). The datasheet says it should play H.264.

I was wondering if anyone else has gotten H.264 video to play on one of these STB's successfully.

Using VLC 0.8.5 I can take an H.264 encoded file (encoded with Nero Recode) and stream it via UDP to the broadcast address of my LAN. The video is decoded by the STB and displays on the TV, however it seems to be dropping frames as if it cannot keep up with decoding the video.

I've tried using the same VLC version on Windows XP, Mac OS X (with an intel box), and Linux. On all three computers, I had enough processor power to deocde the file on the local machine, so I'm fairly certain it's not a matter of hardware on that end.

Interestingly enough, when streaming the file out and allowing the file to also be displayed locally, I get similar slowdown of framerate from the video as shown on the STB.

Could this be a VLC problem, or is this STB just not doing what it advertised it could do?

A sidenote for anyone who also is messing with STB: it does NOT seem to play AAC audio, which is part of the MPEG-4 standard. It only seems to play MPEG-1 layer 3 (as in mp3) audio.

Trying to do the same thing.
and I get same result.

very slow video on Aminet124 but normal play on VLC client PC/MAC

We don't have the real specification to encode/stream video H264 ...
the datasheet say : 720x576i

Witch H264 encoder do you use ?
