H264 and RTSP Streaming over Fedora Core 5

Postby cmert » 27 Jul 2006 08:07

I've been looking everywhere to find an answer to this question but no chance. Is H264 RTSP streaming still not supported by VLC? If anybody enlighten me about this I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mert

Last time I tested it, H264 rtsp(rtp) streams created by vlc(relayed with DSS) was only watchable with vlc.
Some one mentioned the used sdp file could be the problem.
I don't know the right entries dependent from the used H264 settings, so I dumped the video H264 stream with vlc and muxed/hinted it with MP4Box. From this file I created an sdp file with MP4Box. Based at this sdp file, I adjusted the sdp file created by vlc. The result wasn't satisfying. From what I can say, it is not possible at the moment if you want use a different player then vlc for playback.
