Streaming to WMP 10

Postby piano » 31 Mar 2006 11:17

I try to stream a DVB channel to Windows Media Player 10 over my Network. On the server side i use gentoo with VLC. It works, but not very well. Windows Media Player receives the stream but it hangs every 5-10 seconds for 1 second. Regardless which bitrate i choose, i tryed from 256-2048Mbit.
Besides with a VLC on client side, i get a nice-looking stream without any troubles ... at any bitrate, even with 3072Mbit. But i need to receive it with a Windows Media Player 10 ... so, my questions are: Is it really possible to stream _without_ troubles, hanging picture, to a WMP 10 with VLC? When its possible, how? Whats wrong with my transcode line?

dvb:// :vvv :dvb-adapter=0 :dvb-frequency=482000000 :dvb-bandwidth=8 :dvb-caching=900 :sout=#transcode{vcodec=WMV2,vb=(from 256 to 2048,scale=1}:duplicate{dst=std{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=172.23.23.103:1234}}

Thank you for helping.
