Receiving a live stream into VLC

I'd like to know how do I receive a live stream signal onto a vlc media player. Do I have to point the player to the /encoder? Do I set the vlc as the destination from the encoder? Or both? Do I use rtsp from the player and rtmp from the encoder to point to each, source and outlet? Also does the vlc have and embed code so I can place it in a website?
Could and will someone provide an example of how this is done?
Thank you

Hi,

there are example about using the stream output.

https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation ... _Examples/

and examples about using rtmp output here:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/404 ... m-terminal

VLC doesn't provide the code to be embed on your website
