VLC on Suse 10 drops frames and uses cpu 100%

Postby seaman31 » 14 Dec 2005 15:23

Hi,

I have a Athlon XP 2500+ with 512 MB and Suse 10 installed. After installing VLC from the source (with all dependencies) I have a problem with streaming XVID movies (with MP3 audio) to the Dbox2.
The movie starts but frames are obviously dropped and the CPU usage of the computer is 100%.
Of cource the DMA of the harddrives is enabled and before I installed Linux the same computer with Windows XP and VLC worked very fine.

Does anybody have an idea what I can do?

Thanks in advance!

More Info.... What Codecs and methods are you using to stream your files. Encapsulations? Codecs? Bit Rates? HTTP/VOD/UDP?

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
