0 byte recording when I try try to record a stream

Postby Belatucadrus » 27 Nov 2016 14:08

Hi,

I'm trying to record some streams on internet, I configured VLC, chose a recording directory, grabbed the stream link, opened it with VLC, and clicked the "record" button.

But everytime I do this, at some point, the stream stop playing, maybe VLC lost the connection (because the stream ended, for example).

But when it happens, I can't end the recording, pressing the record button again to stop won't work, so I have to close VLC. But when I'm checking my recording folder, my record is empty (0 byte)

Is there a way to prevent this ? Or I have to know when to stop the record before the streams end ?

Recording and transcoding are somehow broken in recent builds, this is a known issue awaiting for a fix.
Meanwhile you should use an older version.
