Monitor and Configure VLC Streaming Bandwidth

Postby ilee1 » 16 Feb 2016 07:26

Hi there,

I am new to VLC product. My intention is to use VLC as a streaming server to stream video/audio files to user's computer. It will handle the load as well.

Does VLC have capabilities to monitor and configure the limit of streaming bandwidth per user, as well as in total (say a group of 800 users), who are viewing a particular file?
if yes, how to go about doing that?

Appreciate your advise. Thanks in advance.

Per-stream bandwidth controls depend on the protocol used.

Per-uesr bandwidth is not implemented (and depending on the protocol possibly not implementable).

Thanks Remi for the quick response.

Can you share some information/webdsites pertaining the protocol used and how to go about 'throttling' the per-stream bandwidth?
