DVB Subtitles On/Off

Hi everybody!

First of all since this is my first post I want to thank the VideoLan team for their great work on their software.

My problem is that I want to stream to 'UDP multicast (224.1.1.1:1234)' Video + Audio in a Mkv container + Subtitle in .srt or .ass. But I need subtitles to be switched On and Off.
Until now I have successfully manage to stream all the above transcoding to the first Mp4 + Mp3 profile, switching on DVB Subtitles and Subtitles Overlay.
But using another Vlc Player or a DVB-C STB I can receive the video stream with all audio streams, BUT it seems that subtitles are hardcoded even though I have them listed as a sub stream. They stay on even if I disable on Vlc or Stb.

I am using latest Vlc on Windows 7 64bit.

Is this supposed to be like this, or there is smth. I am missing?

Thank you.

Well I don't know why no one replied, maybe it's the wrong subforum to ask this question, or maybe no one knows the right answer.
Anyway I resolved the matter using another kind of subtitle, and it works perfectly. I tested it on my HD STB with UDP stream and the DVB Subtitle stream can be turned off and on.

The only problem I have now is to find the right settings for the h264 HD stream. It seems like the best setting for now is not to put any value for bitrate, but let vlc do it itself, otherwise I get a a lot of artifacts and pic freezes.

Thanks.

SRT is not a good idea, since it's not enoughly standardised.
