UNABLE TO CAPTURE AUDIO(TV TUNER-AVERMEDIA GALAXY)

Postby haaris00 » 20 Feb 2014 08:52

I am using VLC media player to capture live video.I am using AVERTV GALAXY tv tuner card and vlc gui interface to capture video using mpeg-2 transcoding.
The problem i am facing is that though i am able to capture video, but audio is missing.I have tried almost all the combinations and i think that it might be a driver issue or something else, but i am not sure.
One thing i have observed under CAPTURE DEVICE option in streaming is that underVIDEO DEVICE NAME i can see "AVERMEDIA USBSW TV VIDEO CAPTURE" option, but under AUDIO DEVICE NAME there are only three option -none,default and vitual-audio-capturer.
is that the reason for the problem and what i have to do for that?

try this.. go into control panel, audio devices, recording devices, right click on your tuner card and select it as the default recording device. Make sure the volume of the recording input device is up. You should see the audio feed coming into the computer via the recording devices tab. then try your vlc session again. if that doesn't work then it sounds like your machine doesn't have the proper audio drivers loaded for your card. goto the vendor website and download the latest drivers for your card. If it still doesn't work after making the device your default recording device, or downloading the latest drivers, then it sounds like your card is not supported by vlc and you'll have to get a different one.

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
