When I choose "Stream Output" "to File", there is no "AVI" choice for encapsulation method. Why ?
Many others are supported, so why not AVI ?

I know AVI sux a bit, but still ...

I have VLC 0.8.2 on win.

the AVI muxer in VLC (as well as AVI) sucks (you even said it ). Hence we decided not to include it in the Streaming Wizard or Stream Output dialog. You can still using by using the mux=avi command.

Will this be fixed ?

well ... i doubt it. (but as i say, you can use it and it will work most of the time)
