streaming screen errror

Postby csmith3texscan » 22 Nov 2013 17:44

WIN7 64 bit
Intel i3-2100
VLC 2.1.1

Trying to stream desktop to file:

:sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=2000,acodec=mpga,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:file{dst=C:\\testfile3.ts,no-overwrite} :sout-all :sout-keep

I get an error:

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'screen://'. Check the log for details.

Where is the log??

This works fine on an old XP machine with the same settings, but not on this Win7 machine.
Any ideas?

To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [code]and[/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.
