Resave Video with lower volume

Postby asjones » 20 Sep 2013 16:16

I am using VLC 2.1 RC2 and I have a video that was recorded with too high a volume, so I wanted to lower the volume. I have not figured out how what filters to adjust and then enable in the Sout Stream -> Trascode preferences.

I saw a great tutorial on how to rotate the a video that was sideways and save it using VLC, but can''t figure out how to do the same type of thing with volume.

For those wondering here is a link to the Rotate example.

thanks for your help

Alan

Thanks for the help. I ended up making the gain a "-15.00" as the range is from -20 to +20.

I am still confused as to why that setting is there vs in another spot like the link shows. There a a bunch of settings (can be a good thing), but I am looking for a better mapping process between things.

thanks

Alan
