Streaming DVB-C to 70 Clients over WiFi possible?

Hi,

I would like to stream a DVB-C signal to 70 notebooks that are on the same WiFi. Is this possible in princible or will the bandwidth be too low? I wondered whether they would still share the 54 MBit/s Wifi bandwith (max. 0,77 MBits/s per Laptop) when I use broadcast to transmit the signal to the network?

Has anyone tried something like this already?

Thanks!

Simple maths says it won't work.

What about using a Multcast Adress?
You could stream it to 239.0.0.2

It depends on your AP, if it forwards the stream and does not use Multicast2Unicast - try it with a non encrypted net. But you have to steam it only once.

The problem will be loss, so your video may look rubbish if you loose packets or the laptops disturb each other.

Most WiFi access points do not support multicast streaming.
