I am trying to stream my HP webcam on my Raspberry Pi. I select the capture device, but then it gives me an error, such as it is not able to open the MRL 'vl2:///dev/video0'. Check the log for details. It also says that the input can't be opened. I would like to be able to stream my HP webcam video, and provide a URL so other computers are able to access it as well.

The logs probably indicate why VLC fails to open the camera.

I've tried streaming, it does nothing. When I do play, it is frozen, with blocks and rectangles of an image, stuck there. I don't see anything in the messages window.

Put verbosity to 2.

where do I change that, and what does that do?

Gives more message in message dialog

It just says "MRL passed to the Sout: v4l2:///dev/video0"

This was when I chose the stream option.
