As above sewrched the forums but seems others had similar issues but no definite fix.

What happens is when following this guide (as an example)http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=259354

As soon as i hit OK at the very end instant BSOD 0x0000007 Video driver etc: death.

When i try the wizard again as soon as i hit OK .....time to reboot.

Any ideas on what maybe causing this? I think its the drivers for the card i using the latest from the http://www.unisupport.net website. Happens when i use the ones on the cd that came with it.

Has anyone got this working with a previous version of VLC?

Thanks

Try forcing 'Device Properties' under 'Advanced Options' in the 'Open Capture Device' menu. Clicking 'OK' through the resulting windows fixed the problem for me. Just a work around though - if you download a recent nightly build, this seems to have been fixed: nightlies.videolan.org

another solution is to try BDA drivers for saa713x chipset, this fix all BSOD problem for me. No need to activate device properties, nor tuner property. only a little sound problem, on the really first start (after a boot), need to launch again to have sound (with a m3u files its easy and quikly).
I know, BDA drivers is for DVB tuner card, but if you search you will see that is compatible for hybrid card (analog and digital) to, and if your card is only analog, it will run cause it will install only the analog config.

CAUTION: if driver isn't provided by your manufacturer you certainly need to modify the inf file. delete the ";" character before the corresponding to your chipset.
e.g. my chipset is a saa7133.
