UDP streaming of media content over WIFI trouble

Hi every body
I am using vlc to stream media content over wireless network in scenario like this:

The bandwidth of wireless network is 54 Mb/s and UDP stream's required bandwidth is only 4 Mb/s; however there is trouble in receiving media stream and quality of playing. Is this a typical problem of streaming real-time contents over wireless networks? Is it necessary to change configurations of my WIFI switch or it is just a software trouble? thank you.

Use wired Ethernet. If it works, you know WiFi is at fault.

I used wired Ethernet before and it works OK; also wireless network works in other usages. I can play the stream but it has jitter and does not play smoothly :( . I want to know is this a typical streaming trouble in wireless networks ? and is there any configuration fault in vlc or WIFI network?

At least multicast hardly ever works over wireless. For unicast, it depends.

In unicast mode I can stream and receive up to five streams with bit-rate of 4 Mb/s correctly; But in multicast mode, I can not stream just one stream correctly; that means the sending rate of vlc in streamer is about 4 MB/s but in receiver client, bit-rate is less than 1 MB/s and this causes low quality.
Can this problem be solved by some special configuration in vlc or it is just a configuration problem with my WIFI switch?

It is an issue with the access point.
