Has this been implemented? I still experience memory leaks while transcoding.

I have the same memory leak problem with vlc 1.1.4 on ubuntu 9.10 x86_64.

vlc runs on a machine with 4GB RAM. For the first couple of hours it consumes about 10% of RAM. But then usage increases to nearly 90%. Few hours later the machine stops responding. The only thing which helps is reboot.
