I'm trying to be able to record and view via rtsp off my axis 210a IP Cam with no success. I want only video to be displayed on screen and both video and sound on the data file. Everything is working perfectly except for the freezing. Wierd thing is it doesn't do it 100% of the time. Sometimes it will actually work and just keep recording, but i need it to work 100% of the time. Any ideas?

Hi, having same problem. My case: Axis 211 camera->Windows VLC 0.8.6a transcoding->sout localhost
Freezes just after a couple of seconds, althoug the program doesn't hang.
Things that I have tried:
- Turning OFF any transcoding (just encapsulating it in ASF,OGG...) it works.
- Instead of recieving from RTSP, but by opening avi and wmv file it works.
- Transcoding JUST audio it works (although no audio is present ATM).
- Tried other versions 0.8.0, 0.8.4, 0.9 and none worked with RTSP stream from camera.
- Tried on 3 different PC (PentiumIV 2.6, CoreDuo2, AMD Sempron 2.
none worked with RTSP stream (on Sempron the transcoding of wmv file was choppy, but worked).
- Tried changing resolutions, codecs, and fiddling with preferences, but nothing helped.
I hope this information can be usefull, cheers.

Oki, I update the firmware to 4.40 and it still didn't work. But after changing "too many things" the camera stopped streaming, having to restore factory defaults.
Now it works. I have to hit "play" several times, but at least it works.
Just have to figure out how to multiplex another audio source into the stream.

Hello Everybody,
i have the same Problem! But my Camera is not the Axis 210a, I have the Axis 223M. The video freezes after 2-4 Seconds too and the Sound continues to play. Have anyone a possible Reason why this could be? I think its the converting of the Files. I Convert it to ASF with WMV1 and MP3 Codec and it Freezes but when i do not convert my Stream it play but i can not Stream to another client.
