VLC UDP streaming flooding all ports

Postby hiren426 » 03 Oct 2006 05:09

Can somene shed light on why udp streams from vlc are flooding all ports on the switch? All leds corresponding to the port are blinking very fast hence flooded. When we browse internet (while streams are running to the STBs) with additional pc attached to same network, the internet goes down. Has anyone experiences this issue?

VLC streaming PC: Win XP pro. with vlc 0.8.4
End Client: Amino 110H
Switch: Linksys (we've also tested dell) both high end and managed.

Any help of insight on this problem would be appricate it.

Your switch doesn't properly handle port flagging or are misconfigured.
