streaming (video only) in 3gp format. is it possible?

Postby jack67 » 21 Sep 2006 22:50

I have searched a lot this forum but really did not find a final answer to this, I really hope someone is able to answer to this question.

Suppose I have an incoming stream which is video only, no audio tracks so we are not talking about the usual AMR audio encoding support.

Can I transcode that stream and generate a 3gp compliant RTSP output with VLC? I know I can transcode video to H263 but this is only a part of the answer because, even if I do not have audio, I also have to generate the proper 3gp container format.

Is it possible to do this with VLC?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You only have to stream the Elementay Stream(RAW) with some info in the SDP file. You should be able to find the Info you need in the forum. Look here: viewtopic.php?t=18688
Remove the audio part.

Return to “VLC stream-output (sout)”
