DBOX2 and Streaming

Postby zool2k » 12 Sep 2006 23:42

Hi everyone!
First of all: i'm german , so english is not my mother tongue!
I'll try to do my best and explain everything as good as possible!

A few months ago the streaming to my dbox2 worked with an older version of vlc but i don't exactly remember the build!
Now i use the 0.8.0 version which should work without problems!
I configured the UDP Port to 8080, but everytime I want to open
http://127.0.0.1:8080 it won't work and i dont know why!
I started VLC with --extrainf http so i don't know what i am doing wrong!!

any suggestions?!

Use vlc 0.8.5. what is your OS version ?
launch vlc with -vvv and gives us the messages.

update: with 0.8.5 i'm able to list my movies locally, but neither stream them to my dbox nor see a list of my movies when I start the dbox movieplayer.
the files are just played locally on my computer!

UPDATE: I CAN LIST THEM WITH THE DBOX BUT THE FILES ARE JUST PLAYED LOCALLY ON MY PC!!!

hey,
got the same problem, I can´t connect to the webinterface and got no connection to my dbox II.
The first time I tryed with port 8080, everything run, but after closing and restart the program or my pc, it wont work anymore using http://127.0.0.1:8080.
I used: --extrainf http and --extraintf=http --sout-transcode-fps=25.000.

My OS is XP with SP2, VLC Version 0.8.4a.

Btw. I tryed what j-b say, the cmd window open an give me the massage:

The command line options couldn´t be loaded, check that they are valid
press enter .....

would be very very nice if somebody can help us

127.0.0.1 is your localhost. You can type http://localhost:8080 that is your PC

You should be typing the network IP address of your PC and then the port.

On my set top box, i type 192.168.1.66:1234 (my port) and whatever Videolan is sending out, my set-top box recieves.

HTH!

P.S did you remember to unblock the updated VLC from your firewall router/firewall?

I installed the v 0.8.4a and it runs good. got a connection via pc over localhost and whith my dboxII. But after I closed VLC and restart the program, the DboxII and localhost connection failed.

need to reinstall the programm to run but only one time.

any ideas?
