Streaming to website

Postby kkingprior » 04 Jun 2006 02:10

Ok, so I have a personal website and I was wondering if it is possible to stream my webcam to the website somehow. From what I have read, I think it's possible, I just have no idea how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

hey,

That#s the same problem, I have. Until now I just have my multimedia files in a database, and only use the vlc plugin to play the movies in the firefox browser, but without streaming the files from vlc or vls, but I really want to.

Okay let's try it together.

I think If you want to reach your file, you are going to stream with vlc, you have to enter it with the ip and the port address. something like this.

<a href="http://172.17.40.407:8080">stream-link</a>

in this case: 172.17.40.407 is the ip adrress of your serving machine and 8080 the standard port for http.

Any other ideas or comments?
