Streaming to an ipod video file

1.) I searched in the wiki and found out how to convert videos to the ipod using the command line. However, the windows command line is extremely cumbersome to use and I want to know how to do the exact same thing using VLC's streaming GUI (not the wizard).

2.) I noticed that VLC-converted ipod movie files have this freezing bug with the video ipod (only with firmware 1.1), where a movie plays for 30 secs, freezes, and then continues without the sound. However, if I remux these faulty video files with mp4box, the problem goes away. This bug is also present in the Videora iPod converter .91, but was recently fixed in .92. Any ideas on what this bug is?
