Use VLC to play DLNA content

Postby Bibici94 » 18 Apr 2020 16:37

Hello !

In part 2 of the post below, the author of the article explains how to use VLC to broadcast on the local network a media stream whose source is a PC and the destination is the freebox player V6 (french ISP box). This corresponds to my needs, because I have a library of DVDs which are archived in ISO and which I would like to be able to play with the freebox.

However, I do not arrive at the same result as in the post: the network flow does not pass between my PC and the freebox. The last window "network flow (SAP)" that I get (1) is very different of that in the post (2). Could someone help me find the right VLC / freebox settings ? Because this super simple solution is really very interesting to know, if it works ...

Thank you in advance, regards.

May I refine a little bit my question: "Is it possible to stream the freebox player V6 using VLC from the LAN ? Windows Media Player does it already (badly concerning the subtitles), why couldn't VLC do it (better)?
