Streaming problem introduced since 0.8.2

Postby jboileau » 20 Jan 2006 20:37

I don't know if this has been reported yet. I could not find any mention of it on this forum.

When you stream with VLC 0.8.2 or later to UDP. If you pause the streamer and start it again (press pause then play) the stream will not resume playing. This also happens if you use the track bar to jump to another location while playing. The stream freezes. This is independant of the version of the VLC that is playing the stream, I have tried every combinations. The problem lies with the version used for the streamer.

The stream I have tested this with is a Divx movie. I have not enabled play locally at the streamer.

This problem does not exist in 0.8.1. You can pause and resume an UDP stream without a glitch in 0.8.1. The problem exist in version 0.8.2 through 0.8.4a.
