HDMI -> LAN -> VLC

I have read that it is possible to convert the HDMI output from a device to LAN, and read the LAN video with VLC.
Any information and instructions on this ?

J'ai vu un article disant qu'on pouvait envoyer une sortie HDMI par LAN via un convertisseur, et afficher la video avec VLC sur un PC connecté au LAN.
Est-ce possible ?
