Hi All,

I convinced my work to spend about $20,000 to upgrade all of the their security cameras from old analog to IP based ones. The one requirement is that it has to look like the old system that had a Quadview for the cameras. I told them that they wouldn't need any new software since we have already been using VLC. But for the life of me I can't get the mosaic function to work. Here is my setup:

IP camera working individually thru VLC as rtsp://192.168.2.102 and rtsp://192.168.2.108 at 720p resolution
Windows 7
VLC 2.2.3

I have not been able to get the Mosaic Wizard I've heard about to work either! Is there anything anyone can do to help? I have tried numerous example .conf files, but only get (bad file descriptor) errors. As you could imagine, I would really appreciate help. Thank you.

There never was a mosaic wizard in VLC. AFAIK, mosaic only works using CLI.

Fair enough. Am I wrong to think that VLC can be configured to combine more than 2 streams onto one feed? As my wife would tell you, I am wrong about many things I assume (that's how I ended up with 3 kids BTW).
