Streaming to TV from laptop with VLC. Is it possible?

Hi, I'm sorry for perhaps a very dumb question but I've searched both over internet and these forums and had no luck in finding the solution. The question is very simple:

Is it possible to stream any content (full HD particularly) from my Mac to Sony Bravia KDL-W9 TV without loss of quality, downscaling/downconverting etc.? If yes, how?

Under Capture devices you will find the Screen option.

Just stream it using unicast or http. You will always loose quality. But it is possible.
