Problem Requesting Subtitle via .m3u

Postby fzone » 11 Jan 2014 15:46

Hi, iam using winXP
i use m3u file to stream the media via webserver
before using version 2.1.x i had no problem with streaming the subtitle.
below is my sample of m3u with no problem on version 2.0.8
on version 2.1.0 to 2.1.2 the subtitle is looking for a file in my local drive while it should be looking from the http server
here is what the error encounter
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "E:\Downloads\http:\\xxx\movie\play\subtitle\T52c54e8b5b829" (Bad file descriptor).
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///E:/Downloads/http%3A%2F%2Fxxx%2Fmovie%2Fplay%2Fsubtitle%2FT52c54e8b5b829'. Check the log for details.

sub-file has always been for local file paths, as documented and as the name implies. For arbitrary locations, input-slave is used.

thanks for your reply.
after searching the documention, i cant find how to use input-slave.
it only show in command line https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help/

Code: Select all

--input-slave=<string> Input slave (experimental) This allows you to play from several inputs at the same time. This feature is experimental, not all formats are supported. Use a '#' separated list of inputs.
can u show me some example how to use input-slave in m3u to load the subtitle?

thanks
