using VLC for TechniSat SkyStar USB 2 streaming

Postby sibeMamnue » 27 Nov 2011 09:16

Hi all
I have a TechniSat SkyStar USB 2 device. Is there any way to receive streaming media using VLC? It is perfect for me, that I can stream the received media to destinations in my network & I can do this in linux.

Thank you

Make sure you have working Linux DVB drivers for the card and read the VLC streaming documentation.

if you mean http://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation: ... VB_Channel:
As clarified there I just need to select the right modules in my linux kernel configuration. I selected and installed all packages containing dvb; Is this enough or I have to install additional drivers? My linux kernel version is 2.6.x
I am to compile vlc by -dvb-enable option. Is there any recompile version of vlc by this option enabled?

thank you.

I mean the Linux DVB kernel drivers, not "dvb" software.
