vlc stream in Windows 2003, must need an soundcard?

Postby jasonwu » 17 May 2011 05:17

Hi everyone.

I am streaming an x264 .mkv file under windows server 2003, and the graphic works fine.

But I can not hear the sound.

In the server, I installed E2eSoft.Virtual.Sound.Card.v1.3.0, and started the windows audio service. But sitll ,in my client, the vlc player's audio menu have nothing.

In media information menu, there is no sound track.

So, if I want to stream in windows server system, should I have to install an real sound card?

Thank you. :D

No you don't. Unless you've set the stream output chain to "display" the stream.

thanks!

I changed the audio profile to "Keep original audio track" and the sound works fine.

When the sound profile is mpeg 4 audio aac, there is no sound.

Why...
