Hello all,
My question probably looks very simple for the people who write here, but I am very sorry, I am not a techie guy who clearly understands the recommendations on relevant topics. Please bear with me and spend 2 minutes of your valuable time.
All I want is to see my notebook's webcam's real time video on my Nokia 5800 (Symbian). They are on the same Wi-Fi network. My notebook has 192.168.2.2, and my Nokia has 192.168.2.5. I dont have an internet acccess on this wireless router-I just have LAN.
I use VLC Media Player 1.1.2 The Luggage on my notebook.
My Nokia phone says S60, V40.0.005.C01.01, 29-12-2009, RM-356.
This is what I did after searching related topics I found here:
1) I started VLC, and click MEDIA--> Streaming
2) At the top I see DirectShow for CAPTURE MODE, I selected CAPTURE DEVICE, I selected the properly working vide and mic devices
3) I clicked on STREAM at the bottom
4) A new window came up, saying
SOURCE
Source: dshow://
Type: dshow
I clicked NEXT
DESTINATIONS
New Destination, I selected RTSP and clicked ADD
Port: 5544, I didnt change it.
Path:/stream.sdp (I wrote this)
Activate transcoding is selected
Profile: Video H.264 + AAC (MP4) (I didnt change this)
I clicked NEXT
OPTIONS
Generated stream output string:
:sout=#transcode{vcodec=h264,vb=0,scale=0,acodec=mp4a,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:rtp{sdp=rtsp://192.168.2.2:5544/stream.sdp} :no-sout-rtp-sap :no-sout-standard-sap :sout-keep
I changed only "rtsp://:5544/" to "rtsp://192.168.2.2:5544/" above. (From what I learned from the other discussions).
I go to my Nokia, connect to Wi-Fi, and I go to this address:
rtsp://192.168.2.2:5544/stream.sdp
It askes "CONNECTION TO SERVER NEEDED, CONNECT?" I reply YES.
First time I try, it says "loading %xx" and than says "unable to play media clip".
After the first time if I try again the same thing it says "connecting" and nothing happens, if I click CANCEL, it asks: RTSPTEMP not saved, save now?"
What am I doing wrong? Should I do some changes to the defaults I didnt touch? I didnt change anything other than what I mentioned above.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
