How to convert to/stream MPEG4 SP?

Hello

I'm using vlc for video trans-coding on a project. The goal is to access a RTSP H264 stream from an Axis cam, convert it to MPEG4 Simple Profile and provide it as a new RTSP stream. The client would be a tool that is using the Axis Media Control Framework.
It works fine so far, I'm able to show the generated stream with another vlc player. But the Axis client can't show it. According to this site http://www.axis.com/products/video/abou ... /mpeg4.htm it supports the Advanced Simple Profile (ASP) up to level 5 and the Simple Profile (SP).
What profile uses vlc when it trans-codes to mp4v? Is there any possibility to explicitly set the desired profile?

Hi Treze,

which Axis camera are you using? I've used Axis 207 that provides MPEG-4 so you don't need to mess around with any transcoding.
Also, how do you feed the trnascoded mpeg4 strem into your AMC client?

Thanks for your answer.
There are different axis cameras, for example the Q1755 and the P3301. And they only provide a H264 stream.
It's a little bit complicated. I wrote a c# program that grabs a stream, converts it with the libvlc and provides a new stream. This works just fine with MJPG and H264 but unfortunately not with MPEG4, which would be very important to the customer. I can watch the stream with vlc though, so I guess the problem could be an incompatible profile.

Now i has a problem. i want to do some modifies of the raw stream data before display it with libvlc. but i can not find how to get the decoded stream data with libvlc. my steam data is a h264 encoded video stream, just a IP Camera. if you know, please help me. Thanks very much!
