How to record dvb-t to a file?

Postby SimL » 01 Dec 2009 16:51

Hi, I want to know how I can record my favourite TV show or smth to a .ts file. I have tried using record button but the problem is that all the programs in that frequency(770 MHz) are being recorded, so I want to record one program at the time. I am using VLC 1.0.3, WinXP. Expecting for help. Thanks :)

In Media menu, you should find something like "streaming" or "convert/save". I think it will allow you to "stream" the program you are locked on to a TS file, as you need.

Not working :( , can anybody tell me step by step what should I write in "Generated stream output string" area to stream only 1 program in 1 file instead of 9 in 1 file.

Maybe in the first window of "save/convert" stuff: you can add a option at the bottom like ":program=4" to filter the channel number 4.

Thanks for the solution this has really worked, but now I am facing another problem. When I try to record a program in frequency ,which have programs ,which are locked for me ,because you have to pay to see them, nothing happens and the program stops playing. So what I am doing wrong: there are 10 channels 7th and 9th I can watch, so I write ":program=7" or ":program=9". But nothing happens as I told. :(

For a list of programs, you can try this:

Code: Select all

:programs=7,9

Hi,

I got it right after a few weeks of trying.
I use the gui. Choose streaming, then stream to file.
But click "Play locally" as well. When it starts, you can choose the channel in the program menu :)

Now it will record only one channel instead of all the channels in that stream.
