Help! Two second delay in live video stream

Postby cowwoc » 12 Aug 2009 22:28

Hi,

I'd like to do live video streaming with a record-to-play turnaround time of under 300ms. I tried everything but no matter what I do VLC always introduces a 1-2 second delay. I even tried recording from a webcam and doing local playback but I still got the delay. Clearly this is not a network problem. It doesn't seem to be a CPU problem either (usage is far from peaking). Disabling transcoding didn't help.

Has anyone done this sort of thing before? Please share your configuration.

Thank you,
Gili
