Streaming to QuickTime

Postby jonathan488 » 23 Apr 2008 13:18

Hi all,

I'm having problems with QuickTime.

Here's my setup: I'm streaming from MyTheatre to VLC (using the MyTheatre AVBroadcaster 0.13 plugin) Streaming to VLC works fine, I can play and save the stream perfectly. The only problem is QuickTime doesn't want to know.

I've used the GUI Wizard to set up the stream in VLC and have tried to both stream to another computer (on the same network) and transcode the file (in various different formats and extensions - .avi, .mpg, .mp4. for QuickTime to pick up but it keeps throwing up errors. :(

For example, when I try to open the URL of the stream, for example http://10.2.20.2:8080 from the "Open URL" bit of QuickTime I get the message "Error 47: Invalid URL. ()"
I have tried both RTP Unicast and HTTP streaming and neither work although I can get VLC to play the file. :x

And if I try and open the transcoded/ing file I get the message "Error -2048 Couldn't open the file Test.avi because it is not a file that QuickTime understands."

Does anyone have any hints or suggestions to my problem? It'd be much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Jon.

Long shot here, but I don't suppose you've ever found a solution to that? I'm trying to stream to QuickTime, and am getting that same error. Trying to figure out what settings to use.
