VLC Stream to Live HTTP Viewing

Postby ahill0054 » 09 Mar 2009 23:28

I'm totally new to this stuff, but through my searches, it seems VLC is the best option to stream local capture to the internet. The problem I'm running into, is I don't know how to bridge the gap between the local capture/stream to the internet. It would be nice if I could get it to stream straight to something simple like googlepages but I understand if that's not in the cards. I'm really just looking for any direction someone could give me. I've tried searching through old posts, but I'm finding that I don't even know exactly what to search for. If anyone could give direct help, or relay me to what I might search for that would be great. I'm not a total moron, but stuff in this field is very new to me so I'm kind of aimless.

Thanks

Well...
check out "VLC - stream to web site" post...

I have had some success in making (and developing) "ibstars" simple solution work well so far. And..I have some more to add in a day or two when I have time.
I too have spent much time and hair loss trying to stream directly from the VLC HTTP

Hope this helps
