late buffer for mux input When transcoding

Postby bolandfranck » 02 Oct 2008 13:59

Hi,

I want to stream video over internet :

When I run

Code: Select all

vlc -vvv /volume1/Download/Cash.avi --sout='#duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.10:7000}}'
All is ok but it's long the video stop and restart after few seconds.

So I try to run

Code: Select all

vlc -vvv /volume1/Download/Cash.avi --sout='#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,scale=0.8,vb=800,fps=30.0}:duplicate{dst=std{access=http,mux=ts,dst=192.168.0.10:7000}}'
But I have these error message witch is repeated :

Code: Select all

[00000351] stream_out_transcode stream out debug: late picture skipped (3416) [00000351] stream_out_transcode stream out debug: drift is too high, resetting master sync [00000361] main mux warning: late buffer for mux input (8070)
I would like to know why pictures are skipped ? Is it normal ?
Why i have the message "late buffer for mux" ?
Is it possible to change it ?

Thanks for help

did you get that fixed, I'm having the same issue, no one ever answers this issue so I'm sure it's something simple, like processing power or something, any news?

If your reduce your scale it seems to help, however when i was gettng this need to retain the same resolution and keep my VB at 768k, i couldnt find a compromise, so by setting up a raw stream with no trancoding in version 0.9.x to another version of VLC 0.8.x and then transcoded the output from there to my final destination this problem went away

Hope this helps
