identify camera disconnected in vlc- pls help me

Hai,

i am facing a problem .

live view of the cameras are viewed using the vlc 0.8.6d if suddenly the camera is disconnected/plugged the vlc gets stucked but there is no message or error ocurrs through vlc if the camera is disconected/plugged.

how can we know that the camera has been pluged out through vlc by any messages or informations.

You can try it from the commandline:

Do it with the options vlc -vvv

You will get a verbose message. You can also open View -> Messages and then start streaming from the web camera.
