VLC settings for HD signal streams

Postby allomax » 18 Jan 2007 07:20

Hi
I'm trying to read an hd signal from my firewire connection with vlc. The image is actually great but there are frequently some mosaic and sound cuts, these sort of errors.
Here is an examples of the errors I got reading an 1080p signal. And by the way my cpu is used no more than 60% while doing this. I have a P4 3Ghz with 512mo ddr ram and less than 400mo is used so I don't think that power or ram is an issue.
Can somebody make sense of this:
dshow debug: CapturePin::Receive trashing late input sample
ts warning: discontinuity received 0xb instead of 0x2 (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0xc instead of 0x0 (pid=81)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x0 instead of 0x5 (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x4 instead of 0x1 (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x2 instead of 0x1 (pid=81)
a52 debug: emulated sync word (no sync on following frame)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x8 instead of 0x7 (pid=80)
a52 debug: emulated sync word (no sync on following frame)
main warning: buffer is 98933 in advance, triggering downsampling
main warning: backward_pts != current_pts (-66734)
main warning: output date isn't PTS date, requesting resampling (45787)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x5 instead of 0x3 (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x5 instead of 0x2 (pid=81)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x4 instead of 0xd (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x7 instead of 0x5 (pid=80)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x1 instead of 0xc (pid=81)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0xf instead of 0xe (pid=80)

And it goes on. Is it possible to set VLC to avoid these warning and hopefully restore the image. There are so many parameters I don't know how to set them all.
If anyone can help
Thanks

I have the exact same problem.
Did you found a solution?
I tryed vlc 0.8.6a and 0.8.5.
I ty to relay with vlc, transcoding with mp4v and using multicast.

Thank you.
