UDP Streaming Problem

Postby SlicerX » 02 Sep 2007 21:57

Hello, I've been using VLC for quite some time now as a swiss army knife for video and audio, but only recently have I taken an interest in the streaming capabilities. I have two laptops and a desktop on a wireless network. I want to stream music or video from my desktop to the two laptops in other parts of my house. I set up a UDP stream from the desktop to one of my laptops with some music files (mpegTS), but I receive nothing on the laptop. It appears to connect to the port, but nothing plays or registers that it's receiving any type of data. The ports are forwarded (im using another port besides the default 1234) and open, the ip addresses are correct, but nothing happens. Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Run wireshark on the sender to verify it's sending, and on the receiver to see if the packets are actually coming.
