vlc streaming from a dvb-s card does not work (even compile)

Hi all,

I would like to stream one or more program from a dvb-s card (Nova-s) to a lan, but I can't get vlc to compile with --enable-dvb (amd64 running gentoo with kernel 2.6.7).

Without this option, it compiles, and I am able to stream recorded videos, but I can't access the card. The card itself seems to work (modules load ok, szap finds things...).

Does anyone knows how to get vlc to compile on a fairly recent (linux) 2.6.x kernel with --enablle-dvb ?

Hi all,

The compilation issues have been cleaned out. I needed to have linuxtv-1.1.1 installed (this take care of the 2.6 kernel driver). But now it detect the card fine and tune it ok, but it get stuck before getting the program info.
