Using mp4a-latm with rtp during vlc streaming

Postby silverburgh » 12 Jul 2007 03:08

Hi,

From this post, a user suggested using mp4a-latm with rtp to solve the no-audio problem in p990.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37261&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

I have a few questions, I appreciate if someone can help me:
* 'Do I have to build vlc with amr-wb/amr-nb before I can use 'mp4a-latm'?
* after I build vlc with amr-wb, what do I specified in #transcode{avodec=....} to enable amr-wb/amr=nb?
* if I don't need to use amr-wb to solve the no-audio problem, what audio encoding I can use to have audio on p990?

Thank you.

No, mp4a-latm is only used for aac audio, it activate a different payload format for aac.
* after I build vlc with amr-wb, what do I specified in #transcode{avodec=....} to enable amr-wb/amr=nb?
For amr-nb use "acodec="samr". I don't know if amr wideband is supported.

The SonyEricsson P990 supports aac audio(use the latm).
