Problems cropping in full screen

Postby kriskalish » 13 Dec 2006 02:54

Hey guys,

I'm working on a video wall project at my university. We currently have a 3x3 panel of LCD monitors that we're testing on. The problem we're having is that the video looks pretty silly when peoples faces span more than one monitor. What we're looking to do is crop off the edges in full screen mode to account for the width of the bezels and preserve the image's continuity.

We've played with the zoom command, which doesn't seem to make and difference at all. --crop-geometry 1300x1044+10+10 did nothing noticeably different either

Are we just using the wrong options to start VLC on the wall computers?

Thanks,
-Kris

issues streaming a video over a wall

Postby CarlO_321 » 23 Apr 2007 18:06

Hi,
I am trying to stream a video, split over 4 PCs, each driving a tile of the wall, but
a) While locally it works, on the nodes I am not able to get it split, but just the full video replicated on every node. Here are my commands:
vlc -vvv VTS_01_1.VOB --vout=Direct3D --vout-filter=wall --wall-cols=2 --wall-rows=2 --wall-active --intf=dummy --filter=deinterlace --deinterlace-mode=linear --sout=udp:10.1.1.1
By the way, for a wall is it preferable/possible multicast or a repeated unicast?
b) the deinterlace-mode is not actived.
Any suggestion is most welcome: thank you very much for the assistance,
Best regards,
Carlo
