Set Top Boxes

Can the MediaMVP set top box ( http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products ... iamvp.html ) work with VLC? If not, which set top box options do I have that are most affordable?

Most set top boxes work with mpeg 2 udp streams. If that one does, than it'll work with VLC. (You can also use other streaming methods to stream with VLC to set top boxes ... but I beleive that the safest bet in terms of compatibility is mpeg 2 udp.)

You could also ask Hauppauge, I'm sure that they would know.

And, last but not least, you could check the Hardware Compatibility List on the wiki. I don't remember if set top boxes are listed there but it's worth a try.
