CPU: UDP vs HTTP vs RTSP

Postby rom1 » 16 Feb 2007 15:14

Hi all,

I am receving HTTP streaming on my PC from a VLC server.
When I launch VLC on my client, my CPU is used at 100% (Celeron 1.2Ghz)

If I use UDP or RTSP instead of HTTP to stream, will it be better for my client ? Will it be less intensive for my pC ?

Thanks

Hi Arfael,

The soruce of my stream is a decoder for satellite flow which inlude a streaming server (decoder Dreambox).

I just have to download a m3u file and then launch it with VLC. I am then receiving the streaming video on my VLC.

Voilou
